At The Beach

I am joining Cuisine Kathleen for her At The Beach themed tablescape party this week. Aqua and brown seemed to be the best I could come up with!

I chose a blue runner for the center of the table and worked from there. The woven chargers were found at Savers for $2.99 each. I am not sure I really like them, they are too deep to suit me.

The aqua dinner plate is Thompson Pottery, the pattern is Seashell; it is washed with brown over the embossed portions. I don't have much in the way of brown, but did pull out a brown and white salad plate made by Sterling. I think this may be restaurant ware as it is quite heavy.

A scallop shell will be used for the stuffed clam appetizer.

The aqua glassware is Noritake Sweet Swirl, which remind me of ocean waves.

The brown napkins are hemstitched linen gathered with a woven napkin ring. I tucked the  champagne Madeline flatware in for something different.

The rim shot.

The centerpiece is a myriad of shore birds, starfish and a lighthouse.

Marigene -- loving your beachy table -- especially those shore birds! Is it heating up down there in Kansas? We've had some hot and humid weather with LOTS of wind this week :)

What??!?!?!!! What's not to like about those great chargers??!?!! The depth of them is what makes them so cool! Think about it...they are kind of "cradling" the plate. They're perfect! For living in the middle of the country, you did an especially good job of bringing the beach to life on your table! I know it's not all that easy to find fabulous beach-inspired stuff around these parts!!! Very nice!

The Vermonster does Beach very well! I like everything, LOVE the glasses, and the dishes are so pretty! Feels very beachy to me, the brown of the sand the blue of the sea, and the seagulls to annoy the #$%$ out of us! :)
Thanks for linking to Let's Dish, and stay cool!

Love the aqua glassware, so pretty! The shorebirds are really cute with the shells!

If the chargers are too deep, put a small book (Reader's Digest, or Guideposts) in each one to raise the plates up!

I love this table! You are always such a good shopper and find the best deals at the thrift stores. I like the chargers a lot the way you have done it here, but you could always whitewash them if you think they are too dark. I am considering doing that to some I have which are really really dark.

I love the blue and brown combination and you have a nice collection of shorebirds that make this table stand apart. I have those Thomson dishes in white and I'm really happy with them (I have service for 12).

I adore your Noritake stemware. WhT a fabulous color and it does look like waves. You created such a great table. I already had my outdoor table ready and didn't have time for a beach one. But I am sure to do at least one this summer.
