Summer Fun!

Inspiration for this week's table comes in the way of one of my favorite summer vegetables, fresh corn on the cob...and my corny dishes! My husband thinks I should leave the table up the rest of the summer...

Since I did the It's Corny post I have found another covered casserole and individual corn holder plates to add to my collection.

Almost everything on the table is from thrift stores with the exception of the flatware (World Market), green salad plates (Amazon.com) and the napkin rings were a gift from Kathleen (I used them because I don't have any corn napkin ring and they reminded me of kernels of corn!; The most expensive item on the table is the new corn casserole which cost $4.90.

Thanks for visiting this week. I really appreciate you taking time to visit each week, hope this fun table made you smile!

I will join a few parties this week. Thank you ladies for hosting each week.

Marigene, I LOVE this!! I can't believe how many pieces of this you have. I have a bowl my mom gave me last year, but that's it. Love, love it!! Thanks for stopping by, and I apologize for being so late getting by to visit:-)

Hi Marigene!

I see corn items every so often at the thrift stores I visit. I am always so tempted to get them but so far they haven't been as nice as the ones you have.

Thanks for sharing at my party this week!

Marigene,
This is adorable!!! When out antiquing a few weekends ago, I saw similar corn on the cob holders! The Iron Star (Fort Scott) had a corn pitcher the end of June while I was visiting! Love how you used the green goblets and dinnerware with your stunning collection!
Fondly,
Pat

Cool corn table, Marigene. It says summer to me. I'm still a little apprehensive about corn lately, my dog swallowed two cobs whole :)

What a fun table! Corn on the cob reminds me of my childhood. We had fresh corn on the cob every summer, right out of the fields. Oh, make my mouth water just thinking about it. ;-)
Your corny table is darling, and even more special that most items were thrift shop finds.

I would eat corn on the cob every day if I could! I love it on the grill, and I even like it cold the next day. This is so fun and colorful! You have quite a collection! Now, the question is do you eat your corn like a typewriter, or do you go around the ear?

Hey Marigene! The Saver's is opening Saturday the 14th of July. It is on the South East corner of the intersection of Pflumm and SM parkway. You can't actually see it from that intersection, it it in a strip mall just a little east of that intersection.

Pat said...

Oh, NO! I just drove by the Saver's today(thurs.) and they are open, and the parking lot is full! Opened early I guess!
