Summer Fun

The theme for Kathleen's Let Dish this week is Summer Fun. Unfortunately, summer so far hasn't been much fun here in East/Central Kansas, with the heat and humidity we have had this year. Today is the first that it has been on the cool side. I don't think the temperature even broke 80° and it rained for a little while this morning.

I grabbed some aqua and white dishes to represent water and sand, maybe a pool/kool deck, maybe the the ocean and a sandy beach!

The banana leaf place mat is from World Market, the aqua salad plates from TJMaxx and everything else on the table are thrift store finds.

The dinner plate is Federalist Ironstone, the aqua salad plate is unmarked and the soup bowl is Johnson Bros. Snowhite Regency.

The aqua stemware is Indiana Glass Recollection.

The flatware is Oneida Louisiana stainless. I recently found 5-piece place setting, service for 8 at Savers for about $15 after a 20% discount. The napkins are linen.

The centerpiece is a small aqua and off white speckled tureen with candles. The tureen has no marks on the bottom as to who the maker is, so I am guessing it was someone's ceramic project in the 1970's!

Everyone always like to see the rim shot!

Thank you for taking the time to visit today, hope you enjoyed it and will come back again soon.

I will be joining:

Cuisine Kathleen/Let's Dish
The Thrifty Groove/Thrifty Things Friday
The Tablescaper/Seasonal Sundays

Thank you Kathleen, Diann and Alma for hosting these fun memes each week!

Marigene,
Well, this tablescape certainly cooled me off too, dear friend! I agree this Summer on the Prairie has been anything but fun! Your tablescape is gorgeous with the cool white and aqua blue hues! The only thing missing was the lemonade! Ha!

Pat

I love the colors on your table. So summery and ocean-like. I love how you put it all together. I am especially fond of your Regency soup bowls. I have some of that pattern and it's so versatile isn't it? Dianne

The heat is on! Is how it feels here, too! Your aqua and white china is great to use for a cooling thought. The soup tureen could hold some tasty clam chowder and I love the thrifting part of your tablescape. Summer time is a challenge in this heat.

Thanks, Pam

Keeping it cool is smart! Love the aqua shades! I've heard a lot about the heat down there and I am glad I didn't have to deal with it. Those 100+ temperatures are for the birds... no...rocks!!

Hi Marigene! The cooler temps are just wonderful, aren't they? I actually turned the AC off! This is a very pretty table! The aqua looks great on your table! Love the layering of plates, and the stemware works perfectly!

Hope the coolness lasts!

This beautifully cool table sure is representative of the nicer weather we've had these past few day! I'm tellin' you...I thought we were all just going to be Crispy Critters by summer's end! Now I hear it's only going to be in the 70s tomorrow. Wow!!! I keep looking at all those beautiful tureens you have on the cabinet behind the table. You really have a fabulous collection!!!

We've finally cooled down a bit here in Wisconsin, thankfully, but you're right - not much fun and outdoor chores needed to be done very early or after dusk.

The blue and white are very cooling on the eyes and beautiful!

I love the cool fresh feel of this table. And I think you are right, those are the bowls that match my salad plates. I would love to find them. Of course, I only have two of the salad plates so, I would love more of those as well. LOL. Thank you for sharing this with us at TTF. Have a fun day!
