Orange Accents

This week the inspiration came in the way of luncheon plates I bought while visiting my siblings in Vermont last summer. The Wood and Sons English Scenery features pastoral scenes.

I started with woven mats that I have placed wrong side up...I like the more textured side of them. The flatware is Oneida Louisiana.

The chargers are  over-sized dinner plates which hold the luncheon plates. They are is Wood and Sons English Scenery, circa 1917, which is a pastoral scene.

The next layers are dishes I have used numerous times, a dessert plate from Pier 1 Basket Relief  and Wood and Sons Gay Day cream soup bowl is the top layer. They are being used here as salad bowls.

The bubble glassware is Artland Iris in cobalt.

I wanted some orange accents so added mini pumpkins to the bowls and oranges to the centerpiece bowl.

Rim shot.

Thanks for visiting today, hope you will return the next time. I really appreciate all the comments that are left. Have a great week!

I will be joining Let's Dish/Cuisine Kathleen.

Beautiful table Marigene! Love the pastoral plates and the soup cup is so pretty. We have sort-of similar tables this week! Guess we were both feeling blue with a "pop" or orange! :) Pam

Blue and orange is such a great color combination, isn't it? And, surely, blue must be considered a color of autumn because of the azure sky. Lovely table.

Blue and white catches my eye again and again and though I bought some dishes at Goodwill, I used them only once because I just don't have much in the way of blue. Your combinations are right on.

Marigene, this is beautiful. Your new luncheon plates are so pretty, and I love that centerpiece bowl with the scalloped edge and the handles. The orange color pops with the beautiful blue and white. I always love your rim shots, because you stack plates so beautifully. laurie

Hi, Marigene! There is just something about pastoral scenes that speaks of fall and Thanksgiving no matter what color it comes in! And I love the addition of oranges to your table. Reminds me of a scene from "Little Women" (the Susan Sarandon verson from the late 90s). Oranges aren't just for summer or Christmas! You did a beautiful job! Have a beautiful weekend!!!
