Geraniums!

Hope everyone had a fun and safe holiday weekend. We had a pretty relaxing few days, only going out a couple of times, once to the grocery, then today to a luncheon with homemade ice cream at the cousins.

To enlarge any photo, just click on the picture.

I used the same natural banana bark placemats from Pier 1 as I used last week; but the real inspiration was the geranium leaf charger plates I was so fortunate to have found at Savers back the end of May. There were 8 sitting on the shelf just waiting for me. They must have just been put out before I rounded the corner of the plate aisle. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw what they were. I picked one up and saw that they were only $2.99 each...I scooped up the other 7 so fast I am surprised I didn't damage them in my excitement! By the way, they are Bordallo Pinheiro, so I am sure the cost new was at least triple, if not more than what I paid.

The dinner plates are Wedgwood Wildbriar, in brown/pink, with green leaves and a white background. This pattern was discontinued in 1957. Replacements, Ltd. has them listed at $37.99 per plate! These were another Savers find at $2.99 each.

The salad plates are some you have seen on a number of occasions. They have no backstamp or markings of any kind on them. They are probably the favorites of any of the white/cream plates I own.

For dessert I have chosen the Wood & Sons Glenwood green and white with gold accents.

The water glass is Indiana King's Crown. I haven't been able to identify the wine stem.

The flatware is Oneida Sterling Afterglow, circa 1956. The napkins are plain green from Goodwill.

The flowers are from my garden. They are just plain old purple coneflowers and gooseneck loosestrife. Unfortunately, it has been really hot so there isn't much going on flowerwise here at the moment. I finally had to get the hose out yesterday before everything was completely fried.

Rim shots...

Thank you for taking the time to visit today...hope you will be generous by leaving a comment.

Wow, you sure got a good deal on those dishes!!! I wish there was a Savers where I live.

I have some gerainium salad plates that I love. I got them to go with my Ladybug bowls. I might just get back into tablescaping so I can show them off. It takes me SO long to put one together though...

I love the charger plate. Haven't seen anything like that here. We tend to just have the round or now fashionable squares.

You really got a great deal with those geranium chargers - gorgeous! I always enjoy coming here and see how you put such beautiful plate combos together. All are beautiful but those chargers steal the show today :)

There is a savers in one of the towns I drive through on the way to my daughter's house so I always have to stop and "stretch my legs" and check it out. It never has the beautiful dishes you find but then it is such a busy store that I think one would have to visit more often because of the turnover. Lucky you in having one nearby and finding such a great bargain.

I am so envious of those chargers! So many lovely tablescapes ahead with those. I love the greens and whites you put together this week. A lovely table and also very restful and cool feeling. It's the heat that is getting me down so this is a pick me up for sure. Love cone flowers but nothing much is blooming here in this heat.

hugs,
Linda

Thanks for commenting on my mirror collection. I attached the knives for the sunburst mirror with some heavy duty adhesive. The link to the tutorial for that project is in my current mirror post (I made it back in February so you could search that way too).
Have a great weekend.
