Pink Hibiscus

I have no words for the table you are about to see! The inspiration was the Gerbera daisies from last week...I wanted to use them, again, before they faded away. I knew it would be a pink table...so I found a tablecloth in the armoire that I thought would work. I wanted something that would make me smile...it has been so rainy and overcast this spring. Next were the dishes...I found the hibiscus bowls at Savers the end of last summer, but didn't get a chance to use them. Well, there was pink and yellow to work with...strange color combo, even for me, but I ran with it. I don't think I need to narrate this tablescape any further...enjoy while you are laughing!

Toile and Gerbera Daisies

I have had this blue and white toile tablecloth for years. I bought it because it had roosters and chickens on it...it's from back when I was collecting things with roosters. The Gerbera daisies jumped into my cart while grocery shopping. I really liked the white with pink centers, but there was only one bunch, so I added a bunch of pink and some white mums for fillers as I didn't see anything else that would go with my blue/white scheme. I paired blue checked napkins that my friend, Joen. made for me out of a new shower curtain.

The plate stack keeps getting shorter and shorter each week...simple is the name of my game. This week it's just a wood charger, navy dinner plate and white luncheon plate I like the size of the luncheon plate for green salads.

I had forgotten about these dark blue goblets...found they matched the blue in the tablecloth.

The flatware is International stainless.

Mismatched blue and white gravy boat and underplate are being used  to hold the salad dressing.

The candle holders are some type of ceramic that used to be red, black and gold...I got the paint out a while back and changed them into  nice shade of blue, which goes perfectly with this table.

More April Cornell!

 The inspiration came from napkins and tablerunner. I have had the napkins for over a year, but recently acquired the tablerunner. It was a hard choice on which of the colors I would pull from the fabric, in the end it was the mocha, yellow and aqua.

 I started each placesetting with the Pier One white scalloped wood chargers. To that I added a mocha Gracious Goods dinner plate and topped it with a yellow Bordallo cabbage leaf luncheon plate.

The flatware is vintage Lifetime Cutlery Old Homestead.

The aqua glassware is very inexpensive, like in a dollar each from Dollar Tree...but the color goes perfectly with the linens.

The centerpiece are brown metal pillar candle holders, which will be painted white, soon; aqua candles and an aqua wood compote filled with pine cone "zinnias" that I crafted. I need to find some larger, flatter bottomed pine cones to do more. Do you think they resemble zinnias?
