Another Blue and White Table?

It is time for Tablescape Thursday at Between Naps On The Porch with our host, Susan. Thanks for my favorite meme.

You may enlarge any picture by clicking on it.

This week I am doing a blue and white table with new, to me, blue dishes. I have been looking for plain blue dishes and haven't seen an overabundance of them...if I weren't looking, they would be everywhere. I found dinner plates and soup/salad bowls by Home Trends, the pattern is Natural Elements-blue.

I am using the dinner plate as a charger plate for this table setting.

The white dinner plate is Wedgwood Hedge Rose, which I have used before. I only put the napkin on the plate to cut down on the starkness of the white!

The soup/salad bowl is being used for salad tonight.

The placesetting.

The pretty edges of the dishes.

The centerpiece is just Swedish ivy in a small tureen that is sitting atop a very pale yellow dessert plate.

Thank you for taking time to visit my blog. A special thanks to all that leave a comment, that is the only way we bloggers can tell that you have been to our sites.

Mimi, this is just beautiful! I love this shade of blue! I do not have anything this color. Love the tablecloth especially. You always put together a great table, and you must be the luckiest person to have Goodwill and ARC with such great things!

Absolutely love this tablescape. You have so many dishes with scallops which I like so much. Every week you do something so fabulous. My friend Lisa that I told you about can maybe look at now that her husband is here from England with his Blackberry. I am going to ask if I can send your blog to him. Love, Brenda

Very pretty pale blue scene, Mimi! I think the whole table looks lovely & serene...blue always sets such a calm mood for me.
I've been wanting to do a "blue" table for awhile now. Just too busy sewing lately. ;-)
I go in different directions for awhile.

Keep up the good work!

Mimi, I thought of you this weekend as I was browsing an estate sale and an outdoor antique show. Both had lots of dishes and glassware and I wondered what you would have bought.

Maria@BubblegumandDuctTape said...

that looks very nice, I like the way you placed the white dinner plate and used the blue plate as a charger. They all stand out more with the white in the middle.

I know what you mean about them being no where when you are not looking for a particular color and everywhere when you are not.

Thanks for visiting my blog and your kind comment. I can see that we like similar color schemes. I am also looking for blue dishes, alsom some with a bright color I don't usually use. I saw a lot of white at Goodwill today but I'm holding out for some color. Your table is lovely. Very pretty tablecloth! I am planning to use my tureen for a fall tablesetting after seeing your idea.

You always have a full host of comments, but it is no wonder, you always post the most lovely tablescapes. You really do.

Hi Mimi~
I love your dishes...they are lovely and compliment each other so nicely!
I love to layer dishes with pretty rims, too!
Thanks so much for stopping by and for your sweet comment...the teacup you mentioned was sent to me from my mother specifically for my PINK Tea party...it was a cup she bought her aunt over 50 years ago and when her aunt downsized she sent my mom all the tea cups she had given her so many years ago!
Have a beautiful weekend~
