Artichoke or Pineapple?

This week the inspiration came by way of a tablecloth...cocoa background with shades of pinks and greens. I pulled out the greens, of course. I am anxious to use this one with pink dishes...maybe soon!

The napkins are plain hemstitched cocoa linen napkins held with lime green beaded napkin rings.

The solid lime green charger/dinner plates were found at TJMaxx several years ago on sale. The creamy white plate is an unmarked old plate that I found while thrifting.

I debated on brown or green glassware, the green will win out every time!

The flatware is 1847 Rogers Brothers Plain, which surprisingly was also found in a thrift store!

I waffled back and forth over using a tureen for the centerpiece, then pulled out a large artichoke finial, or is it a pineapple finial? I have seen them listed as both.  I added tall pillar candles to each side. The little amber stoppered decanter will be used for the salad dressing.

Thanks for taking the time to visit today. Please feel free to leave a comment, as you all know, they are very much appreciated!

I will be joining a few memes this week.

Marigene, your tablecloth is so pretty and I love how you pulled out the colors. Your thrift store purchases are are amazing. I'm thinking the finial is an artichoke, but whatever it is, it looks great as your centerpiece.

Wait a minute...wait just a minute!!! What's with all the pink? I seem to remember a certain someone (not going to mention any names, but the initials are M.P. and she lives "in the middle of nowhere"!) telling me she was not a big fan of pink! So what's up with that??!??!!? :-) Ah, you know I've gotta bust your chops. I'm bored and lonely! :-) L-O-V-E this tablecloth! The colors are great, and I am really diggin' the pattern! Don't turn your back on me, because I'll rip it off in a heartbeat! :-) The chargers are pretty, too. You couldn't find a charger or dinner plate like this at TJ Maxx now if you tried! It seems to me like they're shying away from dishes now and just counting on people to go to Home Goods for those. You get some of the best thrifted stuff, and that flatware is no exception! I don't know how you do it!!! I have one of those pineapple/artichoke/acorn things, too, and have struggled for the longest about what to call it. The consensus seems to be that it's an artichoke, and I think that gets my vote, too. Have a good weekend and enjoy the rain that is forecast. Goodness knows we need it!!!

This tablecloth is stunning. I would have thought it would be difficult though to use it because the pattern is so full of colours, but you did a beautiful job. I can't wait to see it with pink dishes!

Hi, Marigene. Thanks for visiting my "new" china cabinet post! Let me know if/when you take the plunge with yours. I probably won't--at least not for the foreseeable future because it would be such a big project.

Your table is lovely. I don't have much brown at all, and your napkins especially caught my eye. The tablecloth, of course, is lovely. It all came together beautifully. ~Zuni
