Saint Patrick's Day Table

I will be joining Cuisine Kathleen for her 5th Annual St. Patrick's Day Blog Crawl. Please join in, too.

I started with a solid dark green loose weave linen tablecloth. I have been looking for a green plaid, but haven't seen one that spoke to me. The shamrock napkins are some I made a couple of years ago...and I am also using a small white one with a green napkin ring. The flatware is Oneida Louisiana.

I am using double "chargers", the off white octagonal chargers are topped with a plain green (dinner) plate from Old Time Pottery. The plate we will be using for our corned beef dinner is a white Wedgwood Hedge Rose and the soup/salad bowl is Myott Colleen...very Irish, I would say! The only thing I bought for this table are the green plates, the rest was in my inventory and you have seen several times before! I haven't come across any bright green dinner plates that would be good for a St. Paddy's tablescape, but that is okay seeing they would only be used one time a year!

I think the iced tea glasses are Cristal d'Arques and my favorites, are the green etched wine glass, that I wish I knew the maker of. They may be from the 1930's...I just am not sure. I do know that I paid 99¢ each for them at Goodwill a few years ago. I keep looking on eBay to see if there are any like them, but to date haven't found any.

The centerpiece is a little Irish leprechaun toasting everyone with a mug of beer perched on a dessert pedestal and white candlesticks with green candles.

Thanks for stopping by today...do come back the next time.

I will be joining

Are you kiddin' me, lady?? Why on earth would you want to buy green plates when these beautiful floral salad bowls work so beautifully??!?! They celebrate the holiday without screamin' it. That totally works, especially when you're working with a pattern so versatile and pretty as the one on the bowls! You've pulled everything together so nicely, and I wouldn't change a thing for this table...except that I would invite ME to come eat dinner at it! :-) Have a great week with the expected warmth, and a fun St. Patrick's Day! (We're inundated with out-of-towners here for March Madness!)

How is the diet going....I went and treated myself to a bikini at Target yesterday...Only to be worn in the privacy of my backyard....I know I should be ashamed of myself at 62 to be so bold....I am down to 148 from 174....going for that 135 mark....Who knows what I'll be buying when I reach that goal....not that I think I ever will but I'm hanging in there....and no I did not have one popover!!
