First Day Of Spring Luncheon

Our monthly luncheon just happened to fall on the first day of spring this year so I chose something bright and cheery. For some reason the photos came out really dark even though it is a sunny day.

The table started with a floral tablecloth...it has all of the primary colors, plus many others. White napkins were folded into a simple pyramid.
I used two plates, a white Johnson Brothers Regency dinner and a bright yellow sunflower glass one.

The flatware is Oxford Hall in yellow and orange. I found the orange on eBay for a very reasonable price and the yellow were found for even less money at Savers awhile back. I also have them in two other colors...I just love these little vintage gems!
The glassware is Artland in light green and blue.
The yellow daisies are a couple week old and the white are almost that old...they have held up really good, even though one of the kitties knocked the white ones over earlier in the week! I mixed them together.

Kathleen, the food photos are just for you!
The menu consisted of a green salad, baked cheddar/habanero macaroni and cheese, green bean bundles, sautéed panko chicken and dessert was The Cafe Sucre Farine's Irish Chocolate Cheesecake and coffee...the mixture was too stiff to fold the cream into; I was tired after shopping all day and it was about 10:30, so I just beat it with the mixer! I added a layer of vanilla pudding and topped it off with 3 fresh raspberries...served in the tiny canning jars. Everyone raved about it, but I found it to be too rich...I  can't believe I forgot to take a photo of it, after all that work!

I have the best friends in the world!

Thanks for taking the time to visit today...hope you will come back next time.

I love everything about this Table. I love the swirl plates, and the yellow sunflower plates, and the flatware, and the beautiful spring tablecloth, and most of all I love the flatware. I so much want a set of yellow flatware but I have not found any yet that I can afford. Everything is just beautiful together.

Have a great weekend..... Candy

Marigene, will you please email me the recipe for the chicken you did with the Panko crumbs? I just bought a monster-sized box of Panko at Costco, and I need to figure out about a billion different ways to use it before it goes bad. I don't know what I was thinking!!!

What a pretty table, especially that tablecloth!!! It's so cheerful and bright...just what we need to get ourselves out of this winter yuck! (It's supposed to actually SNOW again here today after a dusting over the weekend!!!) I know the ladies were all happy with the food and decor as well as your pleasant hostessing skills!

OK...so looking at all that food, now I'm even hungrier than before. I need to go fix something for breakfast before I fall out. I'm glad your luncheon went well, and HAPPY SPRING, baby!!!!!!! :-)

Marigene, I know I would love the mac and cheese. I have eaten some like it in a trendy restaurant here. It is a very dreary day, and I needed some color in my life which your table provided! I love the table linen, and the flatware. those darn kitties do tend to get into trouble. Have a great day. Joni
