Green Polka Dotted Roosters And Cabbage

While cleaning out the linen armoire I came across this cute vintage square with embroidery and appliqued green polka dotted roosters on each corner. I am not sure where this one came from...possibly the local ARC Thrift Store, but I can't say for sure. Anyhoo...that was the inspiration for my table this week.

I am sure some of you are groaning when you see more green...just can't help myself, sorry. I added a napkin with smaller polka dots than what are on the roosters. I quartered it vertically and placed it between the salad plate and the underplate for the soup cup.

The stack starts with black woven chargers, then layers of green and white Bordallo Pineiro cabbage leaf plates and finally a cute little soup cup that looks like a mini head of cauliflower.

I, once again, pulled out my green handled Oxford Hall Fashion Wear flatware. It is the perfect shade to pair with the BP cabbage plates.

The Ivima 1895 Hobnail stemware is my go to when I use green dishes. They are such a gorgeous unsaturated shade of green.

The centerpiece for my luncheon table is a tureen in the shape of a cauliflower, which will hold, you guessed it...cheesy cauliflower soup!

Thanks for taking the time to visit today...hope you will return next time.

I will join fun parties at
Foodie Friday/Rattlebridge Farm

I LOVE this table Marigene! You're right - that color green is so wonderfully saturated, I would tire of it. What a way to brighten up January.

Your layered dishes are gorgeous! And your cauliflower soup cups and tureen are just perfect for this winter table! The tablecloth is the perfect inspiration piece. I have several tables this size (card table sized for those card parties of the 1950's, at least at my gramma's house). I never thought of centering it on the table. It looks beautiful and really shows off the detail!

Oh, Marigene, I LOVE this table. It really couldn't be prettier! Green is my favorite color, so I'm probably partial, but your choices are outstanding: the darling rooster tablecloth, the dish stack is to die for, your polka dot napkins, your centerpiece and flatware----everything! Bravo!! Rosie @ The Magic Hutch

What a fun table, Marigene. Your embroidered linen is perfect with the cabbage plates...one of my favorite patterns. Green and white reminds me of spring (which seems very far away at the moment).
