Aqua And Lime, Again

Wow, this is probably the longest I have gone without doing a post...I have been busy painting, the dining room, from a pale yellowy/green to an off white,  an old hoosier, a sideboard and the kitchen. Well the kitchen is started, but far from being done. Actually, the dining room doesn't look much different in these photos from before I painted! I am looking for new drapes and fabric for the chairs.

The inspiration for this table came about several months ago when I found these interesting aqua flatware. Yes, they are plastic, but very heavy. The foundation for the table are lime, white and aqua placemats from my friend, Kathleen, 4 or 5 years ago paired with aqua napkins/napkin rings.

Starting at the bottom of the stack are the white wood chargers, then an aqua dinner plate, aqua luncheon plate, white salad plate and finally an apple shaped aqua dessert dish.
The clear lemonade glasses are holding fun peacock/white straws.

The centerpiece is a large artichoke candle on an aqua dessert pedestal with smaller artichoke candles circling the base.

I lightly distessed the hoosier, but it is hard to tell with all the glare.

Thanks for visiting today, hope you will come back next time.

What a fun and spring-like table setting. I've missed your tables while you have been painting. Love the Hoosier, that is one thing I really wish I had room for in my house. Those aqua apple bowls are darling.

I have some painting projects to contend with too. I do enjoy it once I get started but making a plan and getting started is so hard! Your DR looks great! What a pretty table too - very spring/summery.

Gorgeous table Marigene, I love this color combination. The lime green and aqua in the placemats makes for a gorgeous base for your aqua and white plates and the sweet little aqua apple bowls. The artichoke candles work beautifully as the centerpiece too. I have missed your posts so much. You have accomplished so much in such a short period of time. Nothing is quite as satisfying as having fresh paint, it really does make you want to revamp everything else too. The Hoosier cabinet looks wonderful in it's fresh blue paint. Have a wonderful evening..... Candy

Love the colors and layers! Just gorgeous, Marigene!

Thanks so much for weighing in today on the blog. I paint so much and try to keep up with the trends so pieces sell in our little shop. It's hard to know what is a good neutral that MOST people will want to take home!

Thanks again!
Nice to cyber meet you here.
Alison :)

I love all of the sea tones on this table, all of them so soft and pretty. The flatware would have inspired me, too, with its soft color. I actually enjoy using plastic flatware now and again, and use the white flatware from our picnic basket rather often. Those Apple bowls are darling, and the chicken plates make me swoon. I am starting to embrace raised designs rather than printed ones on plates, because they are so much more versatile. But, that said, just yesterday I bought a set of four "Cityscape" plates from Pier One. C'est la vie!

Hi Marigene, Your dining room looks beautiful in these bright and cheerful colors and your table is perfect for it. I have those same white chargers and I use them all the time. The white just adds a little neutral and I think helps make the brights even better. Your tables are always wonderful! Linda

I like the furniture you've painted. I really like the dark wood that tops both your green and the white. I wanted to do that too but didn't want the light maple and was wondering if I could restain it darker, but maybe too much work for me. Yes my husband likes it a lot but he did know my plans before he left. I like the aqua hoosier too. Great job, it's fun isn't it?

Hi, Gorgeous! I don't know how I missed this table until today. It is stunning. I love the plates. They are each gorgeous. The plate with the chicken is beautiful. I have never seen such a beautiful ornate plate with the chicken"rooster" motif. The plate on top of the that plate, I just purchased in a golden yellow and had never seen them before. I also love the flatware, it is so fun to see something different like them and the color iw wonderful.1 Thanks for posting this beautiful tablescape!
