Spring Pinks And Greens

Everything is such beautiful shades of green now that spring has sprung. When my brother, Bud, was young he said all the shades of green reminded him of a patchwork quilt made by Mother Nature. I have combined shades of green and pink to this tablescape.

A few years ago at Goodwill on the very bottom shelf were several pieces of Franciscan Desert Rose china. I scooped up enough for 4  5-place servings as there was another lady also looking. One of the bowls is a newer piece made in Portugal, the rest were made in California between 1971 and 1976.

The plate stack starts with the white wood chargers followed by a green cabbage leaf charger, Desert Rose dinner plate, a pink cabbage leaf salad plate and finally a Desert Rose bowl for dessert, which will be ice cream.

The glassware is Cris d'Arc/Luminarc. These are my favorite shape for wine...doesn't matter what kind it is, either!

I have used my favorite Oneida Louisiana flatware. It just seems to go with anything. The linen napkin is held with a green beaded napkin ring.

I kept the centerpiece simple, just a couple small plants with pink candle holders.

Thanks for visiting today...hope you will come back next time.

I will be joining Table It/Rustic & Refined

Marigene this may be my favorite table of yours EVER! Pink and green. Desert Rose dishes (something I dream of owning) and then pink and green cabbage plates! I'm really in love. This would be a table I would use often!!!

Oh how pretty - one of my favorites. I have many, many pieces of Desert Rose. I inherited a big set from my Granny and then we picked up more serving pieces and some other things that weren't in Granny's set. They were her everyday dishes so I'm lucky to have so many of her pieces.

I love the way you used the cabbage leaf dishes with the Desert Rose - and the pink and green is delightful - one of my favorite table settings ever.

Beautiful Marigene! Love those two colors together. Wow, what a find at Goodwill on those dishes!

PS/ I'm so happy your blog just opened right up for me today so I could enjoy your table. So many times I can't get it to finish opening.

Hi Marigene!
I am loving all the pink and green. I remember growing up my friend's mom had Desert Rose and I loved it. I also want those white chargers! I have been coveting them for a long time. Maybe someday I will break down and buy some. I haven't set a table this week but I will. Just need to get moving! This table is so pretty thanks for sharing, my friend!
Blessings to you!

Love the Franciscan Desert Rose pattern. My best friend had this on her wedding register back in the 60's. You displayed the setting beautifully.

Love pink and green, Marigene. My Desert Rose is packed (I'm starting to think we'll never move), and it was a delight to see your table.

I love this, and I am definitely pinning it. When my late cousin died last year, her son gave me back my mother's set of Desert Rose. I had given it to her because she had a large collection of it, and wanted some more.

It is packed up in the attic right now, but your gorgeous table makes me want to get it out now.I love what you have mixed with it. It looks traditional and updated at the same time.

Gorgeous!! I love the Desert Rose pattern and you have displayed it beautifully. The pink Desert Rose flowers and the green leaves are complemented perfectly with the BP cabbage plates. I love the green sparkle of the napkin rings with the pretty pink napkins too. Have a wonderful holiday weekend Marigene!

Your post was a reminder that I too have the Desert Rose pattern. It belonged to my mother and I love the pattern but it happens to be boxed up. I need to make room for it in my kitchen so I will use it often and after seeing your post it has encouraged me to do just that. I also love the cabbage leaf plates with it as well. May be my next "find" on ebay. Beautiful post.
