A Table For My Friend, Linda!

One of the first bloggers I made friends with when I started blogging over 6 years ago was, Linda of A La Carte. She has a thing for flamingos. I found the painted wood napkin rings a few years ago and patiently waited for something to come along that would go with them. Back in the fall I happened upon the painted salad plates...I couldn't put them in my shopping cart fast enough. A lady shopping the same aisle walked over to see what I had snatched up so fast. I told her I did tablescapes for my blog and wanted to surprise my friend, Linda with a table in her honor. Sorry I couldn't wait until June for your birthday, Linda, so here it is. Enjoy!

The tablecloth is poly/cotton and the cute pink, white and green napkins are cotton. I debated on using solid green or pink, but thought these added a little smile to the table.

The dish stack begins with Bordallo Pinheiro green chargers, then a pink dinner plate and finally the painted salad plate.

The glassware is Artland Iris green and a pink stemmed tulip shaped stem. I think they may be Libbey.

I have, once again, used Oneida Louisiana flatware.

Flamingos are not something I find often so I had nothing to use as a centerpiece so I looked around and came up with pink candlesticks and a couple of pots with succulents...that is the best I could do!

Thanks for visiting today, hope you will return next time.

Linda, I hope you enjoyed the table!

I will join Table It/New House New Home

Marigene, that is fantastic! Love pink and green, the succulents, and your fun hutch in the background is the perfect backdrop. Very Lilly Pulitzer: "Life's a party - dress like it!"

This is definitely a pick-me-upper on a gloomy (but fairly warm....42°) mid-winter VT day. Love the bright pinks and greens and the flamingos are great. Another winner.....
Our sister bought me some flamingo salt and pepper shakers years ago while on one of her vacations. She always got me the tackiest ones she could find. Too bad I got rid of them!

The title of this post alone made me SMILE!! I love this table. The napkin rings and the plates are so cute and FLAMINGOS are so my thing!! I love the pink and green and I also think the centerpiece is just perfect! Thank you for setting this table. My only regret is that I can't sit down with you and share a meal!

Linda

Just love the pinks and greens! (I made a quilt for Grace with those colors) The oldest daughter once stole some garden flamingos and put them in my garden......after that, whenever she came home for a visit I made sure I had those flamingos stuck in the yard for her arrival!

Love your skill at putting a table together....

Such a cheerful table - what a lucky friend that you would make a table setting in honor of her. Those flamingo plates are perfect. I can see how you wouldn't see flamingos out in the middle of the midwest. LOL I love the way you said that the flowered napkins brought a smile to the table - and they do - and they brought a smile to my day. I think all the pieces fit together wonderfully - such springy colors. I've always loved pink and green. When my daughters were young teens I did their bedroom in pink and green - even made pink and green quilts.

Love this table! Lucky Linda, just for her! :) The pink and green are especially fabulous together. Flamingo themed plates or flamingo themed anything are difficult to find. Of course you put them in your cart at lightening speed. :)

Too cute! I don't think I have ever run across any flamingo tabletop. Our neighbors had pink flamingoes all over the yard the other day -- I gather it was someone's birthday. Anyway, I love pink and green and this is very clever.

I know Linda is still smiling! What a neat tribute! I know it was fun to come upon the napkin rings and then the plates.

You did a great job styling the table with what you had. It's a fun table.

Thanks for dropping by. I have one of the recipes you requested and will inquire about the other one. It may take a few days but I will get back with you.

The sight of those perky little flamingo napkin rings and the cute painted plates would brighten a dreary winter day for anyone. I think the print napkins are perfect to accent the flamingo setting and adds a great punch of whimsy that does add the smile. Love the stemware too.

There are smiles all over this table! What fun flamingos and yes, you waited and got the most incredible plates to go with. This just makes me want to go to Florida to get out of the cold and snow. I know I just got back, but I truly hate it! We got 5 more inches yesterday. Yes, yes yes, we need the water, so I am not going to complain much, but this makes me smile and feel the sunshine on my face.
