A Cheery Table On A Dreary Day!

The inspiration for this week's table came in the way of a Pottery Barn red/yellow/white table runner. I kept my colors to those three.

Each plate stack started with Pier One white wood chargers, then yellow Bordallo Pinheiro chargers, red Vera Bradley dinner plates, yellow BP salad plate and finally red BP dessert bowls sitting on Syracuse appetizer plates. Maybe you have noticed that they are not the same. I bought three bowls from Etsy that were listed as BP, but the backstamp just says made in Portugal...the reds are the same, but the veining is very different. I think they are probably a knock-off, but they will work with all my BP dishes! Do you know how hard it is to find purple, red or blue BP dishes...close to impossible! I just recently bought my third red dinner plate in red...it will probably be months before I find another one. It gives me something to look for when I am out in thrift stores or on eBay.

The red glassware is Ivima 1895 Hobnail. This a true red that sparkles in sunlight, which we have none today!

The flatware is Oneida Louisiana. I used red and yellow beaded napkin rings, that were a gift from a blogger friend a few years ago, to hold the napkins together.

I had Erin pick up the flowers on her way home from work...I was hoping for either yellow or red tulips, but they were out so she got red, yellow and white mini carnations, which is perfect for the centerpiece. I am also using red candlesticks with an almost yellow candles.

Thanks for visiting today, hope you come back next time.

Dear Marigene, your table is very cheery. Today is sunshiny here, but we have had lots of dreary days. Your table surely brightens up things a bit. I have those same napkin holders. I love your red goblets; they are really special. I do not have any PB, but I always admire it on the tables of others. Joni

This setting has made my weather-dreary day! Absolutely love the vibrant colors, especially the red. Great contrast with the yellow and white. Brings sunshine into my life today. Thanks!

Really like the red and yellow combo. Are you napkins red and yellow or did you put two napkins together (one red and one yellow)?

Thanks,
Sandy

Just what I needed today! A table that evokes sunshine and warmth, since it just started snowing in Nashville. I stumbled across a set of red dinner/salad plates at TJ Maxx several years ago and I use them a lot. I like this table a lot! Dianne

Wow - another knock-out table setting. I love how you stuck to those three colors - the napkin rings are absolutely perfect. I like the two color napkins - and the glasses are divine. I don't think I would have noticed the difference in the bowls if you hadn't pointed it out. The table is indeed cheery - just the thing for dreary winter days.

Such a delightful tablescape, and you know it would be equally stunning in the Summer as well.
These two colors complement one another perfectly and exuded joy and happiness!
Wishing you a very good week!

How nice to be able to see a pretty tablescape after 5 days with no internet. A waitress at the diner we frequent showed us pix on her phone of the her red wall and her yellow wall in her kitchen. Can't wait to tell her about this tablescape. bbb

Beautiful setting on a gloomy day! Makes you feel bright just looking. Such a pretty runner. Your new plates are perfect, even though they are not BP. I love having a special something, that is difficult to find, to hunt for. Makes the find all the more exciting! :)

Well, it is hard to imagine that there is no sunshine, when that table is just filled with sunshine! I adore the red and yellow combination, and you have done it perfectly. That runner is such a great inspiration for a table - filled with color and fun.

Hi Marigene, indeed your table is cheery. Great color combo with the BP dishes. Don't know where I have been, but I have never seen the yellow or red BP and you know I do love BP. I agree about the hard to find colors. I have been looking for the blue on and off for over a year and only have a couple of pieces. Thanks for show the yellow and red, it's giving me a little hope that I may find a few more pieces of blue.
