Lavender and Roses
The inspiration for today's table came from the Solymod tablecloth made in France. I found it hiding amid some rather ugly tablecloths at Savers back at the end of winter. At first glance I almost walked on by, but I saw a hint of yellow and bluish purple, so I moved the uglies away to see if this was anything I would take home. I was quite surprised to see it was a really pretty one. Who doesn't like yellow roses and lavender? I had to look up the brand, which I wasn't familiar with...it turns out to be a fairly pricey linen.
I did a very simple luncheon table with a minimum of dishes! I tried it with yellow and white dishes, but thought it was too much yellow. So, out came the lavender Bordallo plates.
The lavender glassware was bought a few years ago on sale at Pier One.
I am sorry I dug up my huge lavender plants the end of summer last year to add roses along the front walk. I couldn't find yellow roses at the grocery, so I chose yellow daisies and purple alstroemeria. I knew there was absolutely no chance of finding lavender!
Thanks for visiting today, hope you will come back next time.

Fabulous tablescape as always but sorry I can't say much as I just got home from another 5 1/2 hr ER visit. Have a bad kidney stone that is affecting kidney function. Will fill you in when I know more.
Oh my - that is just wonderful - I adore the lavender cabbage plates - perfect with that lovely tablecloth. You have such a talent for putting colors together. I've been thinking of getting a lavender plant - it grows really well here - there are massive farms of it all around.
Your luncheon table is very inviting! Love those purple cabbage plates!
Beautiful, is all I can come up with.........

Beautiful Marigene! My comments aren't showing up on your last two posts :-(
Marigene,
You have so many pretty tablecloths and lots of Bordello too. Your table is so happy and fun.
Hope your summer is off to a great start.
Marigene, Imagine a bouquet of roses and lavender! Oh the scent would be heavenly! I think you choose the perfect purple plates to accent the tablecloth, and of course my favorite chargers ever! A beautiful table, and I would love to sit here. Linda
Wow, what a great find! It looks beautiful with our lavender cabbage plates. I should really set my table and use my tablecloths and dishes more. You have inspired me.
You seriously set the prettiest tables. I'd love to have a meal at a gorgeous table like that!
What a pretty table setting. The purple and yellow are lovely.
What a find on that tablecloth! Love the table, pretty combo. Why did you dig up your lavender? Did you replant it elsewhere?
That tablecloth is some find, and how perfect it goes with the stemware and those plates. Lovely heading-into-summertime table.
Loving those gorgeous petal dishes. They are superb, such a pretty table.
Such a lovely combination of colors and oh that tablecloth is a prize!
Have a great week!

Don't you love it when that happens (I know your answer already!)?
Your table is lovely as always.
The color combination is beautiful.
I love the table setting, it would be especially pretty at easter when I enjoy mixing yellow and purple colors.

Yum, yum and more yum! You know I always get a little jealous when I see gorgeous purples! They aren't that easy to find! Those cabbage plates are just delicious! I am actually redoing my dining room to put a little purple in my house! I have more reds and burgundies and need some gorgeous purple. This table is just too pretty!
I never stop marveling at your collection and how cleverly you put everything together.
Marigene,
In answer to your question, dear friend!
"Mr. Ed" and I formerly lived in South East Kansas.
About 80+ miles South of Kansas City down 69 Highway
to the small town of Prescott.
We moved to Derby, outside of Wichita, to be close to our son and to retire comfortably!
We are at peace on this side of the Prairie.
Moving here 14+ years ago. . .was a "Good Thing".
Fondly,
Pat
